Andy Kaufman, in character as “Saira Rao,” laments that Taylor Swift hasn’t yet posted the Instagram meme that will singlehandedly end Israeli military operations in Gaza:

Um, what about the Instagram post that convinced the Japanese to surrender in 1945, Community Notes?!?

Swift can’t even control who wins and loses NFL games anymore, but sure, she can end serious world conflicts with one social media post.

I, for one, will never forgive Katy Perry for not using her Twitter account to return those Nigerian girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in 2014. Their blood is on your hands, Katy.


Meanwhile, I’ve been getting so much wrong about Israeli military strategy. I assumed the IDF chose its targets based on intelligence gathering and sophisticated threat assessments, but I was wrong: it’s Bari Weiss1 who actually sets the target list by tweeting about them:
