I didn’t think it was going to happen, but it happened. And I hope and pray the people who made this fateful decision have thought through the consequences of their actions.
Already, social media is in an uproar, with talk of boycotts and strikes and protests. There is a fiercely devoted, some might say fanatical, cult of followers and supporters out there who’ve made this the centerpiece of their very identity.
God willing, people will exercise their right to protest and express their anger peacefully. But I fear this will further increase the divisions, unease and general sense of anger that’s out there.
Yes, indeed, Niantic’s decision to raise the price of remote raid passes in Pokemon GO will have far-reaching and devastating consequences. Reputations will rise and fall based on how well the company has prepared for the coming intense backlash.

Of course, a clearly dangerous legal precedent has been set. In the future, *anyone* who pays hush money to a porn star in violation of federal election law and then tries to cover his tracks by illegally disguising the payment in his business records will perhaps feel the long arm of the law on his shoulder. I shudder to think of the consequences of stepping onto that slippery slope.
Also, considering the 'rapid reaction' of Republicans, such as Senator Lindsey Graham, who did a pretty credible Oral Roberts impersonation while shilling for defense dollars for the Donald on Fox / Hannity:
