You know I’m not a particularly big fan of the Justin Trudeau (mind you, I’m not always a particularly big fan of my own Conservative Party, either) and I vigorously criticise him when I believe it’s warranted.

This is not one of these times. Well done, Mr. Prime Minister.

I am proud that outside of a few fringe academics and far-right and far-left groups, plus a couple of NDP MPs1 and our own “national conservative” party, Canadians have been overwhelmingly united behind Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. Of course, we have an absolutely massive Ukrainian and Ukrainian-Canadian population, and it shows.

The Dippers’ offending Tweets are actually from before the invasion, so even they may have changed their minds. But I’m not making nearly enough money from this Substack to dig through Niki Ashton’s Twitter feed to find out.
