Who wants to tell the Czar?
No one wanted to tell Putin he had a problem in Kursk, while everyone told Democrats they had a problem with Biden. And that's why Democrats are winning while Russia is losing.
When Ukraine launched its incursion into Russia’s Kursk region a few weeks ago, I admired their moxie but didn’t expect too much of it. This wasn’t the first time troops on their side had crossed the Russian border - the Freedom of Russia Legion, consisting of Russians who’ve defected to the Ukrainian side, did so earlier this year - and I expected the Ukrainians to march in, blow up some shit, make their point, and leave.
But they seem to be settling in for the long haul. And Russia, on paper the much stronger country, doesn’t appear to know what to do about it. The situation is changing quickly, but as of this writing the Ukrainians are blowing up Russian bridges and talking about creating a “buffer zone” in Kursk.
Which, of course, is exactly what Russia intended for Ukraine.
Maybe the tide will turn any day now, and Russia, led by Chechen warlor…
