What doesn’t kill your campaign makes it stronger
Marine Le Pen is surging precisely because of factors I expected to hold her back.
I’m no expert on French politics, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night do have a degree in political science, and I used my extensive training to draw two conclusions about the upcoming French Presidential election:
Eric Zemmour’s entry into the race would hurt Marine Le Pen’s campaign by splitting the far-right vote; and,
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine would hurt Marine Le Pen’s campaign by forcing her into awkward questions about her party’s ties to that country, including loans from Russian companies.
