There are times when, I’ll admit it, I feel kind of bad for Donald Trump.

I’m serious. When you’re the smartest, bravest, most compassionate, most infallible man in human history, but literally everyone with whom you come into contact is trying to destroy you for the evulz while literally everyone you entrust with your legal, political and business affairs is hopelessly incompetent or a backstabber, that is some seriously bad luck.

It’s like the old saying goes: if someone is an asshole to you, that means he’s an asshole. If everyone is an asshole to you, that means you’re just too pure for this fallen world and life is not faaaaaaaaaaaaair.

Including, it seems, Trump’s lawyers, who wouldn’t let him testify in his criminal trial even though he really wanted to. (You and me both, Don.)
