The Trump show is in ratings trouble
Call me optimistic, but there are signs his support might not be as solid as we thought.
For those of us who want Trump gone for good, and would prefer he be sent into early retirement by voters instead of a prosecution or one too many buckets of KFC solving the problem for us, recent polling data has not been encouraging. His lead in the GOP nomination race is larger than ever, he remains unnervingly and depressingly competitive in a head-to-head matchup with Joe Biden, and most of his Republican opponents are inexplicably pledging their undying loyalty while ostensibly running to replace him.
At the Trump-free candidates’ debate last week, I’m disappointed neither the moderators nor the lonely #NeverTrump candidates asked Vivek and other Trump acolytes why they’re needed at all, if The Orange God-King was such a great President. The subtext - they all secretly despise Trump, and/or they’re gambling on him not being able to run in 2024 - couldn’t be more clear.
