The closest we ever came to getting rid of Donald Trump was after the Access Hollywood tape dropped in 2016. He brazened it out and politically survived, but surely even he understands that he shouldn’t do anything to refresh voters’ memories about it oh hey guess what?

During his rally in Asheville on Wednesday, Trump reluctantly touched on the economy, while repeatedly mentioning an elusive 'they.' 

'They say it's the most important subject, I'm not sure it is, but they say it's the most important subject. Inflation is the most important but that's part of the economy,' the former president said. 

It wasn't clear who exactly 'they' referred to. DailyMail.com reached out to Trump's campaign for comment on the matter and have not yet received a response. 

Trump tried to hammer Harris on inflation, although his blast came on a day when the Consumer Price Index has annual inflation dropping to 2.9 percent, the lowest it has been since 2021. That could finally prompt the Fed to ease interes…
