In the holiday power rankings, I feel like Easter has fallen to a distant third behind Christmas and Halloween. But it’s probably my favorite holiday of them all.
Aside from the religious significance, Easter is also the unofficial dividing line between winter and spring. I don’t hate winter - skiing makes up for many annoyances, and in any event, if you live in Canada and can’t afford a second home in Florida, you have no choice but to make the best of it - but I’m certainly not upset to see the end of it.
But most of all, I’ll always the holiday with visits to my late grandparents’ place in Badger’s Quay, Newfoundland, where little chocolate eggs were hidden all over the house on Easter morning.
I hope I can make Easter memories for my own sons like my family made for me.
Also, It’s The Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown is by far the most underrated of all the Peanuts holiday specials. I really don’t want to know what “egg soup” tastes like.
Happy Easter :)
That’s the most Peanuts I’ve watched since being a kid - fun to see again! Happy Easter!
