Government by Trolls

This White House's policies are bad enough. Its *attitude* makes them even worse.

It will probably have died out by the time you read this, but last week saw the emergence of a viral internet meme in which people used an AI filter to make photos and drawings look like they came from a Japanese animated movie.

Most normal, well-functioning and non-sociopathic humans used it on pictures of their families and shots from famous movies and stuff. The abnormal, poorly functioning and very much sociopathic humans manning the official White House Twitter account had other ideas:

The White House has shared a Studio Ghibli-style illustration of a real-life convicted drug dealer in tears during her arrest by federal immigration agents.

The image was posted on a White House social media account hosted by X, formerly Twitter, along with photographs of the arrest.

Newsweek has contacted the White House and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for comment via email.
