Before the recent European elections, the two largest political/partisan groups in the European Parliament were the mainstream centre-right European People’s Party, and the mainstream centre-left Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats.

After the recent European elections, amidst much talk of a surging far-right bloc because of widespread dissatisfaction with immigration and inflation and immigration and out-of-touch elites and immigration and taxes and immigration but mostly immigration, the two largest political/partisan groups in the European Parliament are…the mainstream centre-right European People’s Party, and the mainstream centre-left Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats.
